The Fountain of Eternal Gratitude is representing the Hittite, Roman, Seljukian and Ottoman empires that embrace us in the Village of Eternal Gratitude. The water that flows endlessly from the taps of the fountain resembles the whole of culture and arts, flowing from the past to the future. The Eternity symbols of the four empires of the region, Hittite, Roman, Seljukian and Ottoman are embedded in fountain wall. Regarding its dimensions the fountain and the symbols resemble each of the four empires having opened their hands and embracing each other. The half-moon construction of the fountain resembles the joining of hands and embracing in a circle. It has the appearance of a facing crown of each state. On the top of each crown, there are leeches thought for feeding the birds. There is a marble bank in front with channels for water flow in the shape of a half moon.
The front face of the fountain lies towards the lake Beysehir and its back towards the little lake of the village. Together with the adobe houses, the Fountain is completing and enriching the facets of the Village of Eternal Gratitude. On the two faces of the fountain are writings that gives informations about the four empires of the region. Dimensions: 720 cm x 180 cm x 35 cm / Material: Selki Stone, marble, metal.
